This shark had big growth on the right side of the head, and two smaller growths (approximately the size of a mans fist) inside is mouth. Most of the pictures are quite deceptive as the angle of the shark and the light from the surface make it look as if the growth has scar tissue present, but there was absolutely no indication of any trauma or scarring. I have some pictures taken directly above the shark that shows no scarring, the spot pattern on the shark however is distorted by the stretch of skin over the growth on the head. I will forward some more pictures and would be very interested to hear what you may think possible causes are?
